Wanted a reasonably cheap heart rate monitor to help me in my efforts to lose weight. After much searching I found this one and in the 3 months I've been using it have found it perfect so far. I've never used one before but it was really easy. The chest strap is comfortable and easy to adjust.

The wrist device is simple to set up, it let me enter my name, gender, age and weight and if I recall correctly my max heart rate, it then worked out the training zones for me. I'd never heard of them, I'm not sure after reading up about them that I totally believe them, but they are certainly interesting as you hear the beeps telling you that you've moved to a different zone during a work out. I've not had any problem getting the device to find my heart rate when I'm upright, though when I lie on my back (eg to do sit-ups) it does occasionally struggle to find a beat sometimes (it lets you know by beeping at you four times), it soon comes back though. I love the fact that it counts calories for you as well as calculating your average and maximum heart rates, I'm finding those really motivating factors. Maybe all of these features are 'normal' for a HRM but this is my first one, so as the title of my review states, this is 'perfect for me'.

I'd certainly recommend it. Wanted a reasonably cheap heart rate monitor to help me in my efforts to lose weight. After much searching I found this one and in the 3 months I've been using it have found it perfect so far.

Tested: Sigma Sport PC15 Heart Rate Monitor When I first started training for racing, a heart rate monitor (HRM) was one of my first purchases. I used it religiously for years, but eventually started riding without it for the most part.

I'd certainly recommend it. Arrived fast (as usual) and as everybody has already mentioned it comes with the language default set to German but it only takes seconds to go through the menus and set it to English (little hint, Do take a minute or two to read the instruction manual it realy is worth the effort). Zvuk kolokola pamyati.

Once you have set the language the menus are pretty simple to work through and its pretty easy to enter your age, gender, and weight details into the watch and to set up all the other bits (time & date etc.)Once thats all done your ready to go. The chest strap is comfortable to wear and once i have moistened the pick up points it works flawlessly.

The monitor does take about 10 seconds to pick up the signal when you first turn it on but once its synced with the sensor the connection is pretty stable. Once you have programed the monitor with your details (age & weight) it automaticaly calculates your maximum heart rate and your heart rate zones (health zone, fitness zone, power zone.)It records how long you spend in each of the zones and notifies you when you enter them by bleeping at you and displaying it on the screen. This is very helpfull and allows you to control your pace if you are aiming to stay within a certain zone, For example if you're trying to attain maximum fat burning you do not want to be knocking yourself out in your power zone. It also calculates and displays the amount of calories burnt during your exercise and information is recorded not only for the particular period of exercise you have just done but also as accumulated totals as well. Since i have had this heart rate monitor i have found it an invaluable training tool and by using it to regulate my effort in exercise correctly i have shed weight faster and much more comfortably than i had prior to my purchase. Oh and the batteries in both units are easy to change by yourself as well. Are there any minus points to tell?
